Table-top/school fume hoods MERCI® are made for specialized physical and chemical schoolrooms, the variant with full back door can be used in common laboratory too, for example for placing of smaller apparatuses needing exhausting of vapours and gases during operation. It is possible, to work with diluted alkalis and acids (except the hydrofluoric acid), to manipulate with aggressive and smelling chemicals or to use it for heating of stuffs (during working with gas burner, for example). The best advantage is a low demand on place and easy installation.
Table-top/School fume hoods are produced in following versions:
- with firm metal back-wall – laboratory version
- with transparent glass back-wall – demonstrating version
The fume hood will be placed on an underbench high 750mm, equipped with two bushings with coverings for supplying of water or gas and with two electric sockets 230 V, one switch and light 18 W, that will start together with the fan. To the safety elements of the fume cupboard belong the fixing of position of the window in the height 500mm over the worktop, to protect the eyes of personnel (requirement of the norm ČSN EN 14 175) and safety glass thickness 4,4 mm from the side of teacher and from the side of students too. There is a choice of the type of worktop. The worktop is equipped with a rim to eliminate the liquid overflow. The corpus of the fume hood is made of steel sheets thickness 1,5 mm, coated with epoxy powder enamel in grey colour. It is possible, to choose a colour from the RAL scale. The fume hood is equipped with a powerful fan, ensuring perfect and effective exhausting of vapours. There is a moulding in the upper part of the fume hood, to prevent the flowing down of condensate and complicating of the transparency.
